Introduction
Hi, I’m Sophie and I’ve started this blog to share my meltdowns and learning curves…
I’ve always believed in the power of sharing stories - especially the ones that aren’t polished, filtered, or wrapped up with a perfect bow.
So here’s mine.
I’m a Mum. An unexpected, new one, still figuring it out, still googling ‘is this normal for a 3 month old’ throughout my day. I started this blog as a place to collect the things no one warned me about - pregnancy, labour, the raw reality of postpartum life - and the unexpected moments of beauty that come with all the chaos.
Before I had my son, during pregnancy, I read a lot of blogs and watched a lot of vlogs, trying to prepare. But nothing could really prepare me for my experience - for how weird, wonderful, exhausting and emotional motherhood would be (and the amount of shit you’re faced with).
So, this space? It’s for:
The Mum who feels like she’s doing it all wrong.
The pregnant woman who’s overwhelmed by all the advice.
The partner quietly watching from the sidelines, not sure how to help.
And anyone who just wants to hear an honest voice in the middle of the noise.
You definitely won’t find expert parental advice here. I’m not a midwife, doula or parenting coach. I’m just someone who’s in it - knee deep in sick, shit and piles of dirty washing and trying to hold onto who I am, whilst figuring out how to raise a tiny human. I just want to share my experiences along the way and hope it can make someone feel not so alone.
A few things about me:
I crave chocolate 24/7 and it’s the way to my heart.
I live in the North West but I’m originally from the North East.
I’m passionate about laughing through the hard stuff.
I am not perfect, but I am present.
So whether you’re a fellow Mum, soon-to-be Mum, or just curious - thank you for being here. I hope something I write helps you feel seen, heard, or a little less alone.
This is just the beginning. I’ve got stories to tell.
With Love,
Sophie x
